According to the latest news by the Central News Agency in Taipei, the Central Meteorological Administration has released the information that a Ritcheter scale of 4.9 in an earthquake occurred today at 9:19 pm, it had a depth of 17.1 kilometres. 

The epicentre of the earthquake is 22.4 kilometres southwest of the Hualien County Government, which is located in Shoufeng Township, Hualien County. In Hualien County, the largest intensity of an earthquake is a level 4.
