The Prince of Tennis

 It is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Takeshi Konomi. From July 1999 to March 2008 the manga was serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump. The manga contains a total of 379 chapters and was published and collected into 42 tankōbon volumes. Later on, this manga was made into an anime television series which was directed by Takayuki Hamana. It was animated by Trans Arts and co-produced by Nihon Ad Systems and TV Tokyo. The anime TV series was broadcasted on TV Tokyo from October 2001 to March 2005. The series contained a total of one hundred and seventy-eight episodes. In this series, they also included a theatrical movie. In April 2006, an original video animation (OVA) which was the continuation of this anime series was released on DVD. In June 2007, the beginning of the second OVA series was released. It was released roughly three months after the end of the first.
