If you are trying to download Star Wars, then do buy a copy of Star Wars Jedi. If you are using Steam, then your account is automatically added and you can easily access it. Now there is no need to redeem any code to access your game. 
But in case if you have the physical copy of the game from its retailer then there is a need to redeem the code before installing your Star Wars Jedi.  Origin
1.    Launch Origin.
2.    Log in to your EA Account.
3.    Open My Game Library.
4.    Click on the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order game tile.
5.    Choose Download.
